1. Scope
This policy applies to content about symptoms, diagnosis, medication, inhalers, oxygen, action plans, flare-ups, pulmonary rehabilitation, breathing techniques, supplements, environmental risks and emergency warning signs.
2. Boundaries
- Wheezy Does It does not diagnose, prescribe or alter treatment.
- Content must direct individual decisions back to the person’s healthcare professional and written plan.
- Emergency signs must be separated clearly from everyday self-management information.
- Personal experience must never be presented as proof that a treatment is effective or suitable for others.
3. Evidence and review level
Higher-risk subjects require stronger evidence and, before publication, review by an appropriately qualified clinician or specialist professional. Lower-risk content may be checked against current authoritative guidance by a trained editor.
4. High-risk content
- Medicine doses or timings
- Starting or stopping antibiotics or steroids
- Oxygen settings
- Supplements or complementary therapies
- Fixed breathing protocols
- Emergency and escalation advice
5. Third-party resources
Downloads should identify the original publisher, date and known limitations. Hosting a copy does not mean Wheezy Does It endorses every statement indefinitely.
6. Review and withdrawal
Content should be reviewed when guidance changes, a concern is reported, a link or service changes, or the stated review date is reached. Unsafe or doubtful content should be withdrawn while it is assessed.
Major dependency: This policy cannot claim clinical review until a qualified reviewer, scope of responsibility and approval process are formally agreed.
